Samuel Girard filled the Stanley Cup with pups
Colorado Avalanche defenceman Samuel Girard held a hometown championship parade to celebrate their victory on Sunday afternoon. He gave a new meaning to the term “pup cup”.
Girard went to his hometown Roberval, Quebec where he filled the top bowl of the cup with cute little pups. Though one pup had to pose at the side of the cup due to its large size.
Defenceman Samuel Girard filled the top bowl of the Stanley Cup with his pet dog Nordi, while his other dog Tornade was a size bigger than to fit on the Cup, as per online sources. Girard posted adorable pictures of his dogs, one on top of it and one on the side, on his Instagram account.

Samuel Girard was drafted 47th overall during the 2016 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators. After being traded to the Avalanche in 2017, he won the Stanley Cup with the team in 2022. Aside from NHL he also participated with the Canada men’s national junior ice hockey team at the 2015 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and also won a gold medal at the game.
