“Getting better” – Avalanche’s Nazem Kadri and Andrew Cogliano’s participation in Game 2 of Stanley Cup Finals remains uncertain
Nazem Kadri and Andrew Cogliano
Colorado Avalanche forwards, Nazem Kadri and Andrew Cogliano are working hard to return to the ice from their injury, but it’s still uncertain whether the forwards would be in the lineup for the Game 2 of Colorado Avalanche against Tampa Bay Lightning of the Stanley Cup Final at Ball Arena on Saturday.
On Friday, Avalanche coach Jared Bednar commented, “‘Naz’ skated again today”. “He’s added the stick to it for the last couple of days. Getting better. But I don’t have an update on him besides that. Cogliano is progressing the same way, as well. He felt good enough to join the group today. We’ll see what his [health] brings tomorrow.”

Still unsure about Kadri and Cogliano’s participation in Game 2
Andrew Cogliano participated in the full-team practice on Friday, skating fourth in line whereas, Nazem Kadri took the ice before the main session. The Avalanche team and coach are hoping to see the return of both the players by the time of the game after each player underwent hand surgery during the Western Conference Final game against the Edmonton Oilers.
Coach Bednar said, “Similar surgeries, different fingers, thumbs”. “We’re hoping, depending on the timeline, they’ll be able to make their way back into the Finals. We’ll see how it goes when they get playing and whatnot. We’re hopeful that that could be an option for us.” Both Kadri and Cogliano skated on Thursday when the team was off from practice.
Till now Kadri has missed two games since his injury during the first period of Game 3 after he collided with Evander Kane, as noted on nhl.com. While Cogliano left Game 4 during the third period after blocking a shot. Kadri has scored a career-high of 87 points in 71 NHL games during the regular season and 14 points in 13 Stanley Cup playoff games. On the other hand, Cogliano recorded 16 points in 74 games in the regular season.
