The relationship between pop star Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce keeps on producing engaging stories. The Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL is now the latest big name to join the hype of the relationship of this duo. They would find out an old tweet of Kelce and make a direct reference on their social media account.
The tweet of Kelce dates back to 2014, almost a decade ago. In the tweet, he chooses to support the Blackhawks if he ever to support a team. Whether he still supports them or not is something that has not been discovered, the Blackhawks would not let this opportunity pass by.
While requoting the tweet on X, the Blackhawks shared an image of a No. 87 jersey without a name on it. This number is worn by Kelce when he takes to the field with the Kansas City Chiefs. The NHL side would later use the words from one of Swift’s popular songs “Blank Space“.
“We know all too well that we’re a little late on this, but we’ve got a blank space on this jersey to write your name (emoji),” the Blackhawks wrote in their tweet. Check it out below:
Tampa Bay Lightning end goal drought in 4-2 triumph over Chicago Blackhawks
While the Chicago Blackhawks might have had a little fun on the internet with the love sage of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, they were soon brought back to reality. The Tampa Bay Lightning came out as 4-2 victors as they ended their two-game goal drought away to the Blackhawks.
Having lost three games on the bounce including their 5-3 to the Blackhawks, the Lightning came into this game with heavy pressure on their shoulders. Since that loss to their recent opponents last week, they conceded nine goals in two big defeats to the Carolina Hurricanes and St Louis. Blues respectively.
Lukas Riechel opened the scoring for the Blackhawks after he wisely directed a shot towards the net. It turned out to be his first goal of the season. The Lightning then stuck twice as Brayden Point and Mikhail Sergachev to give them the lead on the night. Connor Bedard, the star man for the Hawks in a recent game had a quiet game with only one shot.
The hosts found themselves level again as Corey Perry scored to make it 2-2 in the third period. Victor Hedman then broke the tie with less than nine minutes remaining on the clock. With time running out, the hosts committed men forward leaving an empty goal.
Brandon Hagel would seal the game as he took advantage of this and snapped the team’s three-game losing run. Despite blocking 25 shots during the game, Petz Mrazek was unable to stop the Lightning from winning the match and claiming the two points.
