In a stunning set of scenarios, the Chicago Blackhawks once again find themselves under immense pressure. A second player from their 2009-10 Stanley Cup championship-winning team has filed a case against former video coach Brad Aldrich.
The lawsuit claims a case of sexual assault from their ex-coach. This is the second time, a player has sued him for his grievous charges. In the new complaint, the Blackhawks have also been alleged to try and suppress the complaints of the player in the first place.
This story was first broken by the Chicago Tribune. In their report, the player accused Aldrich had “groomed, harassed, threatened and assaulted” him during that year. He was a part of the “Black Aces“, a minor pro team who were included in the squad during the finals. These players though only played when a first-team player got injured.
For the unversed, Kyle Beach was the first one to have complained against the coach about this in 2021. The first-round draft pick then came to a settlement with the Blackhawks on similar allegations against Aldrich. These fresh allegations have once again put the Chicago-based side under the spotlight.
What further allegations have been filed in latest lawsuit against Brad Aldrich?
These allegations by the second player have once again stunned the world. As per reports, he was a testimony during the first case filed by Kyle Beach. At that time, he did not claim he was victimized by the actions of Brad Aldrich. He though has taken a shocking turn and now claimed that he was too a victim of the assault by the Ex-Blackhawks coach.
The player has alleged that Aldrich would invite the young players to his home to discuss things regarding hockey. He would then make them watch porn and offered them to perform sex acts while pushing them from behind.
Since these allegations, the organization has denied to comment on the matter. However, the team claims they take this seriously and were the ones to start a probe regarding the claims by Beach in 2021.
“We’ve changed as a result of what happened and implemented numerous positive improvements throughout our organization to ensure the safety and well-being of our players and employees,” the Chicago Blackhawks as per The Hockey News.
It will be interesting to see how this matter develops from here on. It is likely that more information regarding this will be released in future updates. Aldrich, who is now a sex offender in the state of Michigan for his actions on a 16-year-old player, now faces more trouble for his behavior.
