Brandon Hagel is a professional Canadian ice hockey player for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. On March 11, 2020, Brandon made his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks. He set a new Franchise record for assists during his four-season tenure with the Red Deer Rebels in the Western Hockey League. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres the 159th overall in the 2016 National Hockey League Draft.

He began his Bantam and Midget AAA ice hockey career with the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in the AMJHL (Alberta Midget Hockey League). During the 2012-13 season with them, Brandon scored 41 points in 33 games. He finished 3rd in the AMJHL scoring and was called to the Second All-Star Team. He recorded 1 goal, and 2 assists, in 2 games with the Whitecourt Wolverines at the end of his Bantam and Midget AAA career.

Brandon Hagel signed as a free agent with the Red Deer Rebels on September 17, 2015, in the WHL. He was ranked the 104th overall by the National Hockey League Central Scouting Bureau. He led the team to win the 2016 Memorial Cup against the London Knights. Later he was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2016 NHL Draft. Brandon was named the alternate team captain and scored 3 goals and 2 assists back-to-back in a game against the Edmonton Oil Kings. 

After signing for the Chicago Blackhawks he recorded 30 points in 19 games. Finally, on March 1, 2019, Brandon Hagel scored his 100th WHL point and 38th goal season in a 7-4 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers. On March 11, 2020, Brandon made his NHL debut as a Blackhawk. In 2021-22 the Blackhawks went out of contention for the playoffs where he established 21 goals and 37 points through 55 games. Later he got traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
