Paul Bissonnette’s “war on the Islanders” seems to have taken a dreary turn in recent weeks. The feud between ‘Biz Nasty’ and New York Islanders former star player Butch Goring doubled down on social media leaving fans bewildered. It’s been weeks since their feud started with no sign of stopping anytime soon.
The whole fiasco took off after Bissonnette blasted Islanders fans for mercilessly booing Maple Leafs captain John Tavares during his 1,000th game. His comments caught the attention of 4x Stanley Cup champion who fired back on X. He stated, they would “boo a clown with zero points” if ‘Bis Nasty’ ever stepped foot at UBS center.

This moment marked Bissonnette’s “declaring war on the Islanders” that has been going on for weeks. However, during Christmas mood, the former NHLer offered a literal olive branch for calling “them boring the past slow, non-electrifying.” Unfortunately, Butch Goring rejected his “peace treaty” almost immediately saying no one “cares about your feelings or apologies.”
Bissonnette fired back by labeling him as an “old fart” and taunting him about how TNT should bring him in “for a demo” to show NHL fans “how to put dentures & diapers on”. In their latest war of words on social media Goring posted while tagging Bissonnette:
You are absolutely correct, I am a senior citizen. I do not wear diapers, I would rather sh*t all over you.Butch Goring on X.
Paul Bissonnette challenges Butch Goring to a face-to-face battle
Butch Goring’s message on X, immediately hoisted the red flag for Paul Bissonnette who challenged the former NY Islanders star to “get your ball bag out of the mason jar in Lou’s office” and “come on to the podcast and say it to my face.” Their altercations only seem to have intensified as days go by, and fans can’t seem to get over their bickering.

Bissonnette further took credit for the fact that how the Islanders have been more exciting in recent games. During the offseason, he criticized the team and GM Lou Lamoriello while admitting that they were not on speaking terms. While appearing on TNT he said,
I don’t want to take full credit, but I definitely have lit a fire underneath their a**.Paul Bissonnette on TNT.
Ryan Whitney on Spittin’ Chiclets podcast said that Goring “hates your guts” and maybe he’s now looking for his glasses to “tweet away at you.” Bissonnette in response said, that he had DM’d him about joining the podcast, but the 74-year-old may not have been interested. Apparently, “I DM’d him” but “he’s ghosted me. He has not responded.”
However, amidst the tense situation between ‘Biz Nasty’ and Goring, the 38-year-old has not forgotten to take a fun break during the NHL Winter Classic. He recently was seen engaging in a fun fistfight with Seattle Kraken mascot Buoy. Both of them also seemed to have been fighting on X platform for quite some time, until fists went flying.
Paul Bissonnette, since his debut till now, has always been a fan favorite. While there have been cases that made him an enemy for many, his humor and take on games and players have made fans cheer on him. As far as the fight with Goring is concerned, it doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. Hopefully, fans will see both of them turn a new leaf in the New Year.
