“Incredibly brutal luck” – Senators goalie Cam Talbot to miss out NHL season due to upper-body injury
Cam Talbot
Ottawa Senators goalie Cam Talbot will most probably not be guarding the goal post this 2022-23 NHL season. He’s out of action for a minimum of 5-7 weeks due to an upper-body injury.
Fans are quite upset about this fact, but looking on the positive side, the other guys will get some NHL minutes during the upcoming season. The 35-year-old goalie was traded on July 12 by the Minnesota Wild. Later signed up the Senators for a base salary of $3 million.
Twitter reacts to Cam Talbot’s absence from the game
Last season, Talbot recorded a score of 32-12-4 with a GAA of 2.76, and a .911 save percentage, with 3 shutouts in 49 games. During the playoffs, he scored 4.15 goals against average, a .846 save percentage, with a score of 0-1.
Apart from goalie Talbot, the Senators have goalie Anton Forsberg. The team also acquired goaltender Magnus Hellberg from the Seattle Kraken on Monday. Anyone among them may get the chance to replace Talbot in the NHL season but nothing has been said for sure.
