“Definitely getting better” – Center Brandon Sutter in interview with S&P voiced his desire to join NHL soon

Brandon Sutter
Center Brandon Sutter did not participate in the 2021-22 NHL season as he fell prey to COVID-19 and suffered from its long-term effects. In March 2021, his test results came positive and he was placed on long-term injured reserve for the season.
Earlier that year on January 25th, he scored his first NHL hat-trick against the Ottawa Senators, and soon after renewed his contract with the Vancouver Canucks but was unable to play further. Even in the 2019-20 season, he left out the game as he injured his upper body.

Brandon Sutter became emotional during his interview with S&P

In Brandon Sutter‘s interview with S&P (Sekeres and Price), he stated that till now he’s still having breathing problems and having a hard time getting on every day, not as a player but as a human himself.
He further noted, “Coming back this season kind of helped me mentally just worry about myself first and the hockey stuff will take care of itself later”, “Just doing what I can, I just want to enjoy the time with my kids and my wife…and be able to play hockey at a later date”.
He further noted that it’s a year that’s “been challenging” so far but mentally he’s more healthy now. Brandon’s now focused on working more on his physical core to be ready for his NHL start. He became emotional as he said that his kids didn’t remember him playing hockey.
So, Brandon’s more than excited to be back at the rink and take his kids out to show off his cooler side. Not to say, he is already 33 years old and if he wants to hold the stick then time’s ticking by.
He also mentioned, “I always envisioned kind of finishing my career in Vancouver and that’s where I wanted to be but I don’t know where that will go…” During his questionnaire, Brandon deeply mentioned how he wanted to go back to the team and start fresh with them, maybe joining from mid-season. For now, well wishes from his fans are with him.
