Fans are super hyped up to see two NHL superstars Connor Bedard and Auston Matthews faceoff against each other in the upcoming Chicago Blackhawks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs match. They are expecting the same thrill that took place when Bedard made his NHL debut against his idol ‘The Next One’ Sidney Crosby.

It’s Bedard’s debut week and so far the rookie star has not failed to make an entrance. His performance on ice has been praised by many, one of them being his next rival Mattews. Although the stars are fated to cross paths on ice as rivals, ‘Papi’ highly praised the rookie stating, “He shoots it as good as anybody I’ve seen…his skill set speaks for itself.”

The Leafs’ center further mentioned that his skill with the stick “is definitely special” and in the coming days, it’ll become one of his best weapons. Even prior to Connor Bedard’s debut as a Blackhawks, the fans have been hyping up and he’s attracted a lot of attention both on and off screen.

Matthews took note of those incidents as he said that “he handled himself” pretty well, despite “all the hype and the bit of circus around it.” “He has a good head on his shoulders.” It was reported that Bedard patterned one of his lethal shots after the Leafs superstar before his debut.

Coach Sheldon Keefe believes they are ready to face off against Blackhawks super rookie Connor Bedard

Toronto Maple Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe bluntly stated that before his debut in the National Hockey League, he didn’t know Connor Bedard that much. He was rather surprised to see that his game is mostly offensive and far more dynamic than he thought initially.

Keefe further complimented the 18-year-old noting that “despite being inexperienced in his first time through the league”, he’s taken it by storm. Despite heaping praises on the rookie, he believes that his team can put up a good performance in the upcoming match.

If our team game defensively continues to improve” then “it will take care of a lot of that kind of stuff,” according to the Maple Leafs coach. Bedard also praised Matthews saying that he’s always “been someone I’ve loved to watch and have looked up to. Unreal player, one of the best in the league.”

So far whenever Bedard took on the ice, he has amazed his fans with his quirky movements. It’ll be exciting to see how much of his skills will prove to be a weapon against one of the NHL’s best teams – the Toronto Maple Leafs.
