Just before the New Year bell rang, Boston Bruins defenceman Connor Clifton packed a nice gift for Buffalo Sabres forward Peyton Krebs in the rink. Following Krebs’s disastrous check on Bruins forward Taylor Hall, an almost bloody brawl took place.

Within seconds of smashing Hall into the boards, Krebs got totally destroyed by Clifton. Before Krebs could relish his hit, he got punched in the face three times by Clifton. Even after falling on the ice, the 27-year-old defenceman didn’t let go of his prey.

The officials had to intervene and separate the two brawling players from each other. The whole arena’s attention bolted from Hall’s board smash to Clifton’s punches on the ice. It was noted that Krebs left the ice bloodied. He didn’t even have his helmet too.

Surprisingly, after getting the short end of the stick, Peyton Krebs pumped his fists energetically, as if he won the fight. Though from the video it was quite clear who did what and how much damage to the other. Nevertheless, he went straight to the locker room and didn’t occupy his seat anymore.

Maybe the damage was done by Clifton and Krebs needed to treat his wounds. Considering the blows he took to his head and face, it would rather be weird if he walks away perfectly. The Sabres are yet to update anything regarding his health or injuries. 

Though Clifton may have won over in the fight, ultimately the Bruins fell over to Sabres in a 4-3 loss. Currently, the Bruins stand with a point score of 28-4-4, while the Sabres walked off with an 18-14-2 record. 

If we are talking about our fighting duo, Connor Clifton has a score of 12 points with 3 goals and 9 assists in 36 games played in the 2022-23 season. On the other hand, Peyton Krebs holds a record of 8 points in 29 games with 3 goals and 5 assists. Bruins Hall has 27 points in 36 games with 13 goals and 14 assists this season.
