The fast-paced action of the NHL is something that amazes the fans. The players skating around with hockey sticks in their hands at a fast speed is the main attraction point of this sport. However, sometimes players need to show off their patience and cool down. Connor McDavid showed this off perfectly as he scored a spectacular goal in his side’s 4-3 triumph.

As the Edmonton Oilers continue to improve from the disastrous start to the season, captain McDavid seems to be back at his very best. He showed off intense levels of patience during his side game against the Minnesota Wild. This goal is now drawing shouts for the goal of the season contender.

Earlier in the season, McDavid had another shout for this award when he showed off his resilience on the field. The forward would stumble down but continued to skate and was manage to fire his shot. It would find the back of the net, leaving the fans awestruck.

He has done something like that once again. This time, the reigning MVP took the puck and deked around the defense. He would later outwait veteran goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and tuck it home into the end to level up the game at 2-2. It turned out to be crucial as the Oilers went on to continue their winning run as they triumphed 4-3 on the night. Check out the highlight of that goal from the post shared on X below:

Oilers extend winning run to six games following victory against Wild

After a disappointing start to the season, the Edmonton Oilers are getting better. The team started off in poor fashion which led to the sacking of former coach Jay Woodcroft. Under the management and coaching of Kris Knolbauch, the team had done pretty well. This 4-3 victory was their sixth win of the bounce.

During their poor start, all eyes were on Connor McDavid as the star forward appeared to be in a slump. He though has bounced back emphatically and has been firing on all cylinders once again. He along with forward partner Leon Draisaitl has started to score goals again, helping the side to important wins.

Both forwards scored and assisted in this game. Meanwhile, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins registered four assists for the Oilers in this game. The game-winner came from Evan Bouchard who smacked his shot past Marc-Andre Fleury to make it 4-3 in the third period. Coach Knolbauch was pleased with him after the game and praised his two-goal, one-assist effort.

There's plenty of guys that can place a shot in the right position but not many can hammer it like that. There's very few that can do both.

The Oilers now entertain the New Jersey Devils in their next encounter. Though they are still far behind the top two spots, this is the intent the fans were hoping for from the team at the start of the season. At the moment, they own the best winning run at the moment and would be hoping to make it seven victories in a row on Sunday.
