After nearly eight years of dating, NHL star Connor McDavid proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Kyle in June. Since then the duo has been keeping the fans updated on their future wedding plans, including sharing glimpses of their recent summer adventure.
Soon after the Staley Cup Finals, the duo set sail to Muskoka to spend the remainder of their time prior call to the 2023-24 training camp in Halifax. Lauren Kyle shared updates on their vacation where the engaged couple was seen sharing a kiss on a swing, showing off her stunning engagement ring, and much more.
In early September, Kyle shared updates on who’s going to be her bridesmaid, captioning on Instagram, “I asked my best friends to be my bridesmaids and I couldn’t be more excited to have them by my side.” Apart from spending time at Muskoka, the duo also traveled to B.C. and Ontario. They attended former Oiler Tyson Barrie’s wedding and the Boots and Hearts Festival.
Following a call to the 2023 training camp, ‘The Chosen One’ has now returned to his base. The Oilers will begin their camp as the regular season game signals its start in October. Needlessly, all teams are prepping for a chance run at the 2024 Stanley Cup, and the Oilers are no different than wanting to do so.
“Looks like he’s seen some sh*t” – NHL Twitter brutally ROASTS Connor McDavid following 2023 headshot photos
Seems like it was ‘The Chosen One’s day to get roasted by NHL fans. NHL phenom Connor McDavid got brutally called out by fans for his serious-faced headshot photo released by the league. One fan stated, “McDavid looks like he’s about to discover fire,” while another commented, “Looks like he’s seen some sh*t.”
In the picture, McDavid has shown very little expression which made him the target of all jokes. Although not all the NHLers were looking incredibly comfortable in their photos, the fans took their chance to share a laugh at the 26-year-old’s expense. Nevertheless, the training camp has begun with the focus of winning the Stanley Cup this year. It’ll be interesting to see what new changes will be brought by the team.
Last season, McDavid scored the most points in the NHL since Mario Lemieux had 161 with the Pens in the 1995-96 season. In the 2022-23 season, the Oilers captain scored 153 points with 64 goals and 89 assists in 82 games. Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain believes that McDavid will be able to cross the 170-point mark.
He believes that it can happen this season stating, “I don’t think anything is out of the question for him as far as numbers are concerned.” “I would never bet against him.” The statement coming from Crosby itself carries weight. McDavid’s performance will now be one of the top to-be-watched-out-for list for the 2023-24 season.
