Goalie Dan Vladar has his “dream come true” moment on Thursday as he got to sign a long-term contract with the Calgary Flames. He has repeatedly emphasized how much he appreciates and loves the team time and again.

Selected by the Boston Bruins as the 75th overall, Vladar had his NHL debut in 2020 against Tampa Bay Lightning as a relief player. After the 2022-23 season, he would have been a restricted free agent but avoided that with his 2-year $4.4 million sign-up.

From next season he’ll have an annual average value of $2.2 million, as per his contract. The 25-year-old goalie commented on the Flames’ website, “Obviously I’m super excited, but I’ve got to work even harder now”. “I love this city, I love the fans, I love the organization. … It’s a dream come true.”

“…so I can show it in a game and give our team even better chance to win than the week before.” “That’s my goal. Obviously, be a be a great teammate, be a great guy off the ice, support all the guys when I’m not playing and do my best.”
