Oliver Kylington signs with Calgary Flames

Defenceman Oliver Kylington signs a 2-year $5 million deal with the Calgary Flames on Tuesday with an annual average value of $2.5 million. He avoided a scheduled salary arbitration hearing on August 10th after penning down a deal with the team.

The 25-year-old has set a career-high of 9 goals, and 22 assists, for 31 points in 73 regular-season games last season. He also recorded 3 points with 1 goal and 2 assists in 12 Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Calgary Flames.

During the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Oliver Kylington was selected by the Flames and recorded a total of 47 points with 14 goals and 33 assists in 168 regular-season games. On the same day as Klington’s signing, the team also penned down forward  Andrew Mangiapane to a 3-year $17.4 million contract.

Andrew has an NHL career-high of 35 goals last season and was scheduled for an arbitration hearing on Friday, as noted on nhl.com. Last season the Flames finished first in the Pacific Division while getting eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the playoffs.
