“Are you even old enough” – Devil’s forward Dawson Mercer enjoys banter with TV host Nev Schulman during interview at VMAs

Dawson Mercer and Nev Schulman

On Sunday, New Jersey Devils forward Dawson Mercer attended the MTV Video Music Awards where he assumed the role of being an interviewer instead of being an interviewee. Though he enjoyed speaking with several celebrities, he sure did enjoy joining with popular TV host Nev Schulman. The VMAs were held at Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey.

Mercer was tasked with asking the celebrities hard-hitting questions. He along with  TV personality Arthur Kade interviewed, TV hosts Nev Schulman and Justina Valentine, actress Chloe Fineman, singer Betty Who, and others. The fun was full on with Mercer going around and engaging with celebrities throughout the event.

Schulman was a bit shocked to see how young Mercer was, and joked, “Are you even old enough to be a professional anything?” While Mercer was hoping to hear his answer was the Devils to his question about the favorite part of New Jersey, Schulman instead twisted his attention to the Wawa’s sandwiches.

In reply, Mercer said, “I’ll have to try one”. Next, he reached out to Fineman. While talking to him, Mercer learned that he needs to be quite accustomed to wearing a wig if he intends to make it on “Saturday Night Live”. But the Devils forward jokingly said, “I don’t want to wear a wig. I like my hair”.
