In a surprising turn of events, the domestic violence case against Boston Bruins‘ forward Milan Lucic has been dropped. This comes after his wife, Brittany Lucic refused to testify before the court.
In November 2023, Lucic was arrested from his home after his wife called 911 and complained about his behavior. As per reports, the 35-year-old tried to “choke” her while being intoxicated.
He was later placed on “indefinite leave” by the Bruins while the team extended their support to his wife and family. Following his arrest, he would walk in the court and plead not guilty.
During the trial at the Boston Municipal Court, Brittany would decline to testify against him. This led to the judge to drop her admission to 911 call as evidence. As a result of this, the case against the 2011 Stanley Cup winner was dropped.
Milan’s defense attorney, Gary Pelletier, further alleged that Brittany herself sounded “intoxicated” on the call and that she “fabricated” the allegations.
