Last week on Friday, Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin revealed a heartbreaking announcement on his Instagram page. He revealed that he and his wife Kenzy Wolfe had lost their unborn baby girl due in April 2024. Following the incident, the captain missed a couple of games in the 2023-24 season.

Head coach Derek Lalonde said, “He’s been playing with this heavy behind him for a while,” and supported Larkin and his family during the tough times. Lalonde also noted that the 27-year-old will be back soon and hopefully join in Montreal.

The couple announced last month that their baby is due in spring and the news was celebrated throughout the hockey community. Unfortunately, things took a grim turn for the Larkin family. The couple got married recently on August 6, a month after Dylan Larkin’s proposal.

“This week my wife and I said goodbye to our baby. It’s hard to find words or positivity in this, but we greatly appreciate your support and understanding, and thank you for respecting our privacy.”

Larkin proposed to Kenzy on 9 July and the duo walked down the aisle on August 6. Following the tragedy of the couple, the player will join the team against the Montreal Canadiens, as per HockeyFeed.

Currently, Larkin is under a $69.6 million contract for 8-years with Detroit Red Wings. So far in the regular-season games he has recorded 8 goals, 14 assists, and 22 points, according to NHL reports.
