“This is brutal” – Dylan Larkin out of the season after core muscle surgery

Dylan Larkin
Detroit Red Wings center, Dylan Larkin had core muscle surgery on Monday marking the end of the second season as the team’s captain. Larkin is said to recover within 8-10 weeks and is expected to join the training camp later in the season. The 25-year-old leads the team with 31 goals, 61 points, in 71 games.
Larkin had 4 shots in 20:29 of ice-time in a 6-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Sunday. He has yet to earn a spot in the playoffs since 2016 when his run of 25 straight postseasons ended. For now, he has 358 career points over 7 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. He was chosen in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Red Wings and made his debut with the team a year later.
Dylan is out of the ring for surgery

Dylan Larkin missed the final 8 games of the last season because of a neck injury with 358 points with 147 goals and 211 assists in 504 National Hockey League games. He led his team with 3 overtime goals and tied with forwards Tyler Bertuzzi and Robby Fabbri for the lead in powerplays.
The Detroit Red Wings have been eliminated from their participation in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 6th straight season. Now they have 6 regular-season games remaining, with their match with Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. It was noted on nhl.com when asked about their disqualification from the playoffs, Larkin said,
“I take it personally; this is brutal”. “To be here, all six years (not in the playoffs) … it’s no fun packing your bag at the end of the year. You want to be playing playoff hockey. You have to take it in, put it on yourself, make sure you have a great year next season, and make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
