Adrian Kempe signed a four-year contract with the Los Angeles Kings
On Sunday, forward Adrian Kempe signed a 4-year $22 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings, with an annual average value of $5.5 million. The 25-year-old could have fallen into the restricted free agent zone on July 13th. He has led the Kings with a career-high of 35 goals in 78 games this season, and also had a career-high of 54 points, and 6 points in 7 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
On July 5th, Los Angeles Kings manager Rob Blake said, “One of the priorities for our organization is to get Adrian Kempe signed right away here”. “Then we kind of know our situation if we have to address a couple of needs in free agency.” During the 2014 NHL Draft, he was selected by the Kings in the first round. He has 186 points with 90 goals and 96 assists in 390 regular-season games and 6 points in 11 playoff games.

Los Angeles Kings also signed forward Kevin Fiala to a 7-year $55.125 million contract on June 30. Adrian Kempe will receive his contract within 10 days, as noted on nhl.com. The Kings had finished third in the Pacific Division to return to the playoffs after each failed three-season game. Back in 2014 they won the Stanley Cup and are yet to achieve the victory to date.

Kempe made his Swedish Hockey League debut in the 2013-14 season before his NHL draft. His initial 3-year contract with the Kings was signed in April 2015. He was chosen for the NHL All-Star Game in 2022. Meanwhile, Fiala who was acquired in a trade with the Wild has a career-high of 85 points with 33 goals and 52 assists, in 82 games last season. He also participated in the 2014 World Junior Hockey Championships and has made a name for himself.
