On Tuesday, forward Martin Necas finalized his 2-year $6 million deal with the Carolina Hurricanes with an annual average value of $3 million.
Last season, the 23-year-old restricted free agent scored 40 points with 14 goals and 26 assists in 78 regular-season games and 5 assists in 14 playoff games for the team.

Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said, as per nhl.com, “Martin is a dynamic young playmaker”. “He has an elite combination of speed and skill and we think he’ll only continue to improve.”
In the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft, Necas was chosen by the Carolina Hurricanes as the 12th overall. He had achieved a total of 119 points in 203 regular-season games and 14 points in 33 playoff games.
During the previous season, the team finished 54-20-8, first in the Metropolitan Divison while losing 7 games to the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Second Round.
