The New Year brought the NHL fans a huge gift in the form of the Winter Classic. This game has become a huge hit in the last few years as teams compete in an outdoor field. This year the Seattle Kraken faced off against the reigning Stanley Cup winners Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Park, home of MLB side, Seattle Mariners.

The Golden Knights made the early statement as they rocked into the arena dressed up as legendary Elvis Presley. The “King of Rock and Roll” is regarded by many as one of the greatest cultural artists ever. For this big occasion, the Golden Knights went all out and decided to pay him a tribute while donning clothes like him.

The Golden Knights stars lined up in white jumpsuits, glasses, and a wig that represented the hairstyle of Presley. Defenseman Alex Martinez was credited for the idea of dressing up as the rock and roll legend. Check out the video shared on X by Sportsnet regarding their entrance.

While the fans present at the stadium were left stunned by this move, there were mixed reactions on social media. Some fans enjoyed the show while some took a shot at the team for this.

Fan reactions to Golden Knights dressing up as Elvis Presley

While dressing up as Elvis Presley was certainly a bold move, there were some users on social media who did not appreciate this move of the Vegas Golden Knights. This along with the move done by the Seattle Kraken players perhaps fueled some seeds of dissatisfaction.

The Kraken players dressed up as fishermen and carried nets and fake fish along with them. Some even tossed the fake fish in the crowd, the same way it is done sometimes in the market.

A major reason for the angry reaction from the fans could be the performance of the team. After dressing up as the great Presley, the fans wanted the team to deliver a performance like him as well.

The team though was comfortably the second-best in the game as the Kraken ran out as 3-0 winners. Goals from Eeli Tolvanen, Will Borgen, and Yanni Gourde sealed a memorable victory for Kraken on a memorable day.
