‘Whoa’ is the next reaction and the man to a surprise handles it really, really well! Maybe this was an expected reply or maybe it’s a practical joke? Well, Twitter kind of thinks in sync and the New York Islanders game makes headlines for unexpected reasons.
The world of the arena and its on-camera proposals is no less than a cliché attempt at declaring emotions. The Islanders and the Florida Panthers witnessed a rather emotionally-distressed cliché, gone wrong in their recent game. Having said that, there is a whole conjectural drama building around the incident, much like the doubts that cross most minds.
‘Was this serious at all,’ is the netizen sentiment and maybe the arena made it to the news through this. One thing is for sure, in a world full of texts, emojis, hopeless romantics, and an immaculately developed proposal and marriage industry, this isn’t what we expect to see on the stands anymore!

The whole incident pans out in a rather unwanted way, with the camera facing a couple. The guy pulls his t-shirt off and kneels down to pretty much propose to the girl. The couple is on the Jumbotron, or so are the eyes of the audience. A shocked reaction from the girl before that camera cut away. We know then what would have followed. The Islanders and the Panthers game looked a little off-color before this incident.
Let me let you in on it. The girl flat out walks away from the guy, the guy briefly acts like he’s hurt and sits back up while enjoying his drink. The jumbotron clip appeared on the internet and fans started posting an array of reactions. Shaming the incident, one of the fans write down that the proposal was an embarrassing hoax by the arena to make it to headlines. That’s a harsh assessment, but the reactions do kind of seem to be very well thought out and balanced.
Maybe, maybe not. But one thing is for sure the girls walking out and the guy going back to the drink isn’t what normal heartbreaks would play out to be. One of the fans even wrote, “I feel like I’ve seen this “couple” pull the same stunt before,” and some others went, “i.” It’s difficult to make accusations but this appeared difficult to believe. If at all, it was serious, we gotta feel bad for the guy and applaud him for how well he handled it. The NHL definitely is fun.
