During the game, the Maple Leafs center was knocked down by a devasting late hit by Stars’ Mason Marchment. This collision took place after McCabe was looking to receive a backpass from his teammate.
The coming together of the two players was a hard one. McCabe would fall down and start bleeding. Surprisingly there was no-call by the officials for this late hit.
The Leafs’ star was not pleased with this decision and took out his frustrations on the referees. As he made his way back to the sidelines, he would explode on them and was not so happy about it. Check out the video of his reaction and the hit from X below:

Maple Leafs overcome Stars 5-4 in enthralling contest
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been in the spotlight recently. Their home ground recently hosted the NHL All-Star Game where Auston Matthews once again shined. Following the festivities, the Leafs returned to the Scotiabank Arena to resume their campaign and faced the Dallas Stars.
A back and forth game saw both sides exchange heavy blows to each other. In the end, the host were able to hold their ground and emerged as 5-4 victors thanks to goals from William Nylander, Mitch Marner, John Tavares and their captain Matthews.
The goals of Marner and Nylander came twenty seconds apart from each other in the middle of the third period. This put the team in the driving seat as they took a 5-3 lead with less around eight minutes remaining in the final period.
Things though did get a little interesting in the end as Wyatt Johnston netted in the dying minutes to make it 5-4. In the end, the Leafs were able to hold up their opposition and claim a crucial win in front of their home crowd.
The Leafs currently sit third in the Eastern Conference standings, six points behind second place Florida Panthers after 49 games. They will need to continue this momentum if they were to reach the Stanley Cup playoffs again this year.
