Just after hours of congratulations from fans, John Ludvig gets into the injured list protocol after a huge collision with Radek Faksa. Despite his hit debut, his NHL journey is now paused for the time being, until the medical team gives a thumbs up.

According to the latest reports, he’ll be out indefinitely in the regular season. Coach Mike Sullivan stated, “I’m disappointed for him,” as the NHLer’s debut success got cut off in the first night. “He was so excited to play” and fans loved his performance on the ice.

After skating off to the locker room on Tuesday, he did not return for the remainder of the game. Furthermore, at that time, Sullivan stated that he couldn’t give an official statement regarding Ludvig’s condition. Apparently, the defenceman tried to skate on the ice for practice but in vain.

John Ludvig’s crash on ice spoils 2023-24 NHL journey 

During the 2nd period of John Ludvig’s debut, he successfully delivered a strong hit on Stars center Radek Faksa, but it was the 23-year-old defenceman who suffered the worst results. He fell face flat on the ice and stayed motionless for a few minutes. 

As he was carried off the ice by teammates Noel Acciari and Marcus Pettersson, the camera captured blood around his mouth. Fans were left stunned by the whole situation as they worried for the new debuted.

Ludvig could be seen flailing around a bit as he was ushered towards the locker room. He did not return for the remainder of the game, as the Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the Dallas Stars in 1-4 fashion.

Apart from John Ludvig, Penguins backup goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic also sustained a lower-body injury and was ushered into medical attendance. As per reporter Wes Crosby, the coach stated that Nedeljkovic tried to attend practice but it was in vain.

In their latest game against the Colorado Avalanche, the Pens shut them down in a 4-0 victory, ending the Avs 15 -game road win record in the latest fashion. Fans are hoping to hear positive reports on John Ludvig and Alex Nedeljkovic. Hopefully, both of them will be able to play in 2023-24 further matches.
