Pop icon Justin Bieber once again made headlines in the NHL, but this time not for his on-ice moments, but rather for cropping out Hart Trophy candidate Nathan MacKinnon. Social media platforms rilled up as evidence of the cropping went viral over X and on Instagram.

However, as of now, there’s been no authentic reveal that Bieber did cut off MacKinnon. The incident took place during the NHL All-Star games. Bieber could be seen slumping more toward Pittsburgh Penguins captain and one of the league’s top stars Sidney Crosby leaving a partial gap between him and MacKinnon.

Later when the picture of his moments was uploaded on his Instagram account, fans noticed Nathan MacKinnon missing from the picture. While many are stating that it’s a different photo and not the one of the trio, there’s also been debate that he cut him off to keep a picture of him and ‘The Chosen One’ only. Did Justin Bieber intentionally cut off Avs alternate captain Nathan MacKinnon?

Well, the answer to that is both yes, and no. There’s been no evidence that it was intentional and a debate among fans is already going on. Despite the intentions, seems like Sidney Crosby’s close friend Nathan MacKinnon almost made it on Justin Bieber’s Instagram account; technically only his right shoulder did.

Bieber was one of the four celebrity captains in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game. He was joined by Tate McRae, Michael Buble, and Will Arnet. McRae was in Nathan MacKinnon’s team with him serving as the actual captain.

His team consisted of Sidney Crosby, Cale Makar, and Alexandar Georgiev. Currently more than the game results and incidents, Bieber’s picture with Crosby is getting attention. Fans have noticed in a video how Bieber seemed to lean further to Crosby’s side.

One fan commented, “He’s just jealous that Sid’s best friend in Nate”, while another commented, “Maybe MacKinnon isn’t a ‘Belieber’ like Sid?” In another X upload, Bieber could be seen looking at Crosby and grinning, as the post quoted, “Find someone who looks at you the way Justin Bieber looks at Sidney Crosby ??”

Nevertheless, although it’s a pity to see MacKinnon out of frame with Justin Bieber and Sidney Crosby, he and his team are back on track for Stanley Cup contention. With the NHL All-Star ending, the teams will now compete to get into the 2024 Cup race in hopes of winning ‘Lord Stanley’ this year.
