Canadian ice hockey player Brayden Point said the decision on his return for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is yet to be made. The Tampa Bay Lightning are scheduled to lock horns against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Point has missed 10 games since sustaining a lower-body injury in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 14. Cut to today, he practised for the second straight day on the third line with Nicholas Paul and Ross Colton and looked on Tuesday as if he was preparing to play in Game 1.

“We still got to see,” Point said at Stanley Cup Final Media Day on Tuesday, as quoted by NHL.com. “I don’t think anything is guaranteed, but it’s just fun to be out there with the team again and being part of it.”

He added: “It’s been tough. You want to be out there. That’s why we play at this time of the year. But the team has been playing so well that it made it easier just to focus on rehab and trying to get healthy.

“It’s been inspiring. They’ve played fantastic hockey. Guys have worked extremely hard to get to this point and sacrificed their bodies a lot to get to this point. So it was great to watch. It really helped me just to focus on trying to get back just because they were playing so well.”
