Forward Mason Appleton agreed to a 3-year $6.5 million contract with the Winnipeg jets at an average value of $2.167 million on Sunday.
The 26-year-old avoided an arbitration hearing scheduled on Thursday. He was chosen by the Seattle Kraken from the Jets in a 2021 NHL Expansion Draft.

Mason Appleton is back with the Winnipeg Jets
In the last season, Appleton scored 21 points with 8 goals and 12 assists in 68 games for the Jets and the Kraken, including 4 points with 4 goals and 4 assists in 19 games with the Jets after they acquired him in trade on March 20.
In the 2015 NHL Draft, the Jets selected him in the sixth round with him recording a score of 64 points in 206 regular-season games and 3 points in 9 Stanley Cup Playoff games for both Jets and Kraken, as mentioned on nhl.com.
The Winnipeg Jets have missed the playoffs for the first time in 5 seasons with 39-32-11, finishing 6th in the Central Divison and 8 points behind the Nashville Predators for the 2nd wild card for the Western Conference last season.
