Mika Zibanejad is a professional ice hockey center and the alternate captain for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. The Swedish professional ice hockey player represented Sweden in the World Ice Hockey Championships, and also in the World Ice Hockey Junior Championship in the U-20. Before his career with the Ottawa Senators, he played with the AIK IF Youth Organization and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. On July 13, 2011, Mika Zibanejad signed an entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators after his 2011 NHL Drafting. He registered his first NHL assist on a goal point against Detroit Red Wings in a 5-3 loss. On 29th January against the Washington Capitals he was chosen as the first star, and on the following night, he scored his first NHL goal against the Montreal Canadians.

At the end of the 2015-16 season, Mika scored a career-high of 21 goals with 30 assists. On 18th July 2016, he got traded to the Rangers in exchange for Derick Brassard. In April 2017 he scored the OT-winning goal in Game 5 of the 2017 NHL Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Later in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, Mika triumphed over the Ottawa Senators with 2 goals and 7 assists during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. 

On October 5, 2019, he enjoyed his 3rd-career hat trick against his former team, the Senators. He was named the NHL’s First Star of the Week on 8th October. Mika Zibanejad became the 3rd player in Rangers history to attain 5 goals in a 6-5 win over the Capitals on March 5, 2020. His seventh career hat trick came against the Buffalo Sabres in April 2021. Later on January 18, 2022, he got voted to his first All-Star Game.
