New York Rangers

The New York Rangers attack line is definitely ticking as the chemistry between them is causing loads of trouble for the opposition. And this is when the Rangers, game after game have been put up against top-tier netminders who have won the Vezina Trophy on the previous three occasions. In the last game, they faced one of their own of last season – Igor Shesterkin who was the Vezina winner for 2022.

However, the Rangers have put up to the challenge as it has not stopped them from scoring freely. 3 goals against Andrei Vasilevskiy of Tampa Bay Lightning, a mammoth 7 goals against the Minnesota Wild’s Marc-Andre Fleury, and 5 goals against the Anaheim Ducks who have John Gibson as their goalie. The rangers have 16 goals to their name after 3 victorious games.

With a 6-4 victory against the Ducks at Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers have lost just one game against the New York Jets who have Connor Hellebuyck as their guardian of the goal. Connor was the best netminder for the NHL 2020 season. Rangers were able to get only one past Hellebuyck who literally pulled off a 40-save display.

“I think there’s a belief in this locker room that we can play,” states Mika Zibanejad. He and Artemi Panarin enjoyed a four-point game. “There’s an understanding that we need to work hard. We need to do the little things right. I think there’s obviously room for improvement, but so far so good.”

“I thought we played great, but I thought we got lackadaisical on the two goals in the third period,” New York Rangers manager Gerard Gallant speaks of the goals from the Ducks. “The game wasn’t won, but it was pretty close. I mean, we’re up three goals and both times we got lackadaisical and gave them good scoring chances and they buried it. That’s frustrating because you can’t do that”.

As stated earlier that the frontline of New York Rangers is brewing with confidence this season. Panarin along with Zibanejad put in a total of 3 goals, and 5 assists, raking 13 shots on target. The rest of the players are also following in the footsteps of their forwards. This has definitely been the highlight of the Rangers so far this season. Fans would be hoping that this goal galore continues throughout the remainder season.
