It’s true as a fan notes on Twitter, “The rivalry never sleeps”, seeing how the Honda Center crowd bellowed the “Yankees suck” chant during an ongoing NHL Boston Bruins vs. Anaheim Ducks game. The New York vs. Boston rivalry is famous all over US Sports, especially in baseball.
Nevertheless, fans all over social media were surprisingly taken aback, as the chant vibrated throughout an NHL game out of nowhere. The clip of the crowd shouting “Yankees suck” has been going viral all over social media. Even without much emphasis, the chant can be heard loud and clear.
Just like the New York vs Boston games are always heated in baseball, the game between Boston vs. Ducks is another one to watch out for in NHL. The rivalry between these two teams has always set fire to ice and this time it was no different. The Bruins dusted off the Ducks with an overpowering 7-1 win.

The game not only witnessed the infamous chant but also celebrated Bruins forward David Pastrnak’s smashing hat trick. Since his 2014 NHL debut with the teams Pastrnak, nicknamed “Pasta” has made a score of 58 points, 32 goals, and 26 assists in 40 games played.
In his NHL career, he has recorded 562 points with 290 assists and 272 goals in 550 games played. The Bruins winning the game cruised them forward with a score of 32-4-4 while the Ducks carried off 12-25-4 points. Prior to the game, Ducks‘ coach Dallas Eakins stated, “We have o play a perfect game” to win against Bruins.
Unfortunately, the one who reached perfection on the ice was Bruins player Pastrnak. In the 2nd period, he extended the team’s 2-1 margin to a 4-1, helping the team clinch the golden win. The crowd roared with congratulatory voices from fans, while Ducks forward Adam Henrique said, “It seemed like a home game for them”.
Ducks forward Max Comtois said, “We didn’t show up”. “We didn’t play good. We let Gibby down and that’s the end result. Consistency has been our issue the whole year and it hasn’t stopped apparently.” “Who did we beat this year? Dallas, New York, I think we can play with those teams”.
Eakins said of Pastrnak, “When that puck is on his stick it’s dangerous”. “Obviously him and McDavid are two totally different players. You look at his first goal where we turned up with him, the puck got reset and he literally got three feet of separation and it was on his stick and it was off. It’s in the net. Those guys, you just have to stick to them like velcro.”
