On Tuesday, Mike Grier, San Jose Sharks general manager said, “It’s a very difficult (tough) day for our staff,”. “Those guys, you scout, you spend a lot of time together on the road and in meetings, so it was a very emotional day, very hard on the group.” “It’s a sad day for me personally, a very sad day for our organization, our players, our staff. Anyone who knew Bryan knew what type of man he was. He was just an honest, down-to-earth, loving person who just cared about everyone. He had time for everyone in the building, anyone he came across, he had time.”

Bryan Marchment played 6 seasons with San Jose after his trade from Tampa Bay Lightning in March 1998. In 2001-02, he had a career-high with 20 assists and 22 points. In the previous season, he had 7 goals, with 3 of them being game-winners. As per nhl.com, the general manager of the New Jersey Devils and former teammate of Marchment said, “Brian was a really good friend and a great teammate of mine. It’s just devastating, as we all know.”
