In an enthralling NHL encounter between the Florida Panthers and the Buffalo Sabres, the fans were treated to another wild brawl. During this game, forward Nick Cousins once again took the center stage.

The 30-year-old NHLer has been part of several fights this season. As a result of this, his actions have been criticized. This time he is getting slammed for taking part in wild brawl after seemingly laying down on the ice field from a massive hit.

In the second period of the game, a scrum broke out after Sabres’ Jordan Greenway delivered a heavy hit to Cousins near their goal. The Panthers star would fall down on the ice and appeared injured.

Soon after this, the two sets of players would throw away their gloves and engaged in a fight. Out of nowhere, Cousins would get back up and join in the fray. He would get to his feet, jump on and headlock Jacob Bryson as the referees tried to break up the fight. Check out the video below:

Fans unhappy with Nick Cousins’ action in game against Sabres

The NHL fans on the internet were once again unimpressed with the actions of Nick Cousins during his team’s clash against the Buffalo Sabres. The American International is currently facing the wrath of social media users.

Fans have compared his behavior to some soccer stars who sometimes simulate in games to earn the referee’s attention and get a penalty awarded. Some were stunned with this and labeled this as an “Oscar worthy performance”.

It is likely that the fans will not go off Cousins so easily. The forward did manage to pick up an assist in this game, so he did contribute something meaningful to the team.

Speaking of the game, the Panthers came out on top 3-2 as star forward Matthew Tkachuk came back from an upper body injury. He scored and assisted one goal to help his side over the line in this fiercely contested game.

The 2022-23 Eastern Conference champions are now tied with 82 points on top of the table with the Boston Bruins. However, they have played one game less than their division rivals and are looking good for another deep Stanley Cup playoffs push.
