Nick Foligno returns on ice with “confidence” after a depressing 2021-22 season with Bruins
Nick Foligno
Boston Bruins forward Nick Foligno is ready to set fire on the icy rink this 2022-23 NHL season. Considering his previous season scores, he is on a good start as of now. One can even say, 2021-22 was not a very Fogliano-season.
After his signup with the Bruins, the team has held high expectations from the 34-year-old player. Lack of result production and a series of injuries haunted not only Nick but also the team. His strength, toughness, leadership, and net-front presence were the qualities that attracted the Bruins to sign a $7.6 million deal on July 29, 2021.
After a successful debut this NHL season, Nick said, “Honestly, I have confidence in who I am as a player”. “I trusted what I can do when healthy and I’m excited about putting that out there, so that’s all I’ve tried to focus on. I can’t worry about what’s going to go on above me. I’m worried about trying to help this team.”

Bruins coach Jim Montgomery commented, “He got a goal where he should be, right in front of the net”. “Where he’s had a lot of success his whole career. I’m happy for him. I’m happy for that fourth line.” His first point this season was the 500th point of his NHL career.
2021-22 compromised of Nick getting injured three times after which he couldn’t find his way back on the ice. But after his recent Saturday start, he said, “I’m feeling good”. “I feel healthy. I’m excited. I like what our lines are all doing.”
“That’s been the most fun, is every time very line is stepping over the boards, the identity that we have is exactly what we preached in training camp. It’s been fun to be a part of.”
