“An awesome play-by-play guy” – Nicolas Roy signs $15 million contract with Golden Knights

Restricted free agent Nicolas Roy penned down a 5-year $15 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights at an annual average value of $3 million.

The 25-year-old forward signed the contract on Monday after having a career-high of 39 points with 15 goals and 24 assists in 78 last-season games.

Roy was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2015 NHL Draft in the fourth round as 96th overall. He represented Team Canada at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, the 2015 IIHF World U-18 Championships, and the 2017 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

He has a total of 64 points with 26 goals and 38 assists in 163 regular-season games for both the Hurricanes and the Golden Knights, as noted on nhl.com. Nicolas Roy also recorded 17 points with 5 goals and 12 assists in 39 Stanley Cup playoffs.
