The Toronto Maple Leafs are yet to hit their stride this season. Despite claiming wins, the team’s performances have shocked several fans. They were recently heavily booed by their fans at the Scotiabank Arena. Former NHLer P.K. Subban has now ripped into coach Sheldon Keefe.
Since becoming an analyst, Subban has not been shy to voice his opinions. As the Leafs continued to slump down, he did not hold back at attacking the coach of the team. He would share a video on X (formerly called Twitter), to voice his frustrations with Keefe’s tactics, game management, and other abilities. He also called for the sacking of Keefe for this performance.

Keefe though is no stranger to this type of huge backlash and criticism. The fans have also bashed him following the team’s poor outings in recent times. Following their loss to the Florida Panthers during the Stanley Cup last season, the calls for his sacking increased. Users on social media would brutally mock the coach and his team as they got eliminated by the Panthers.
"It’s time for the Toronto Maple Leafs to move on from Sheldon Keefe. I think the Toronto Maple Leafs are doing themselves a disservice by wasting the years of the talent".P.K. Subban on X.
P.K. Subban questions the tactics of Sheldon Keefe
A team struggling to live up to their potential is nothing new. However, when it goes on for a long, several questions are being raised. Such has been the situation of Sheldon Keefe. While the Maple Leafs have won games, they have not looked like a dominating side. P.K. Subban has now questioned the various tactics of the Leafs’ coach.

"This team is in a position as a core group that could win a championship. But I’m sorry, where’s the defensive structure? That’s all coaching, that’s all preparation, that’s getting guys to buy in."
Despite this strong criticism from Subban, there are some who have backed Keefe. The words from the former NHL player though have stirred up a discussion regarding the future of the 43-year-old coach.
Following this, the Leafs were involved in another high-scoring thriller. Facing their Canadien rivals, the Calgary Flames, the hosts edged them out 5-4 in a shootout after both teams were inseparable after overtime. It would be interesting to see how Keefe and his team respond to this message from Subban going forward.
