The Colorado Avalanche’s victory against the two-time reigning champions the Tampa Bay Lightning caught the attention of the White House. President Joe Biden congratulated the Avalanche on their victory against the Lightning on Monday, the day after their victory celebration in Game 6.
The President’s comment on his social media account caused a storm on Twitter, as he was congratulating the Avalanche. He wrote, “a comeback story for the ages, and one that has made your community so rightfully proud.” The Avalanche is currently drowning in the victory of the Stanley Cup, the first since 2001. The celebration will take the shape of a parade on Thursday.

During Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Championship, the Colorado Avalanche won by 2-1 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Avalanche overcame a 1-0 deceit against the two-time reigning champions and clinched the Cup for the first time in 21 years, as noted on nhl.com.

The Avalanche is expected to meet the President in a few months where they will also get the chance to thank the President for his congratulatory message in person. The congratulatory parade on Thursday will start at Union Station trodding downtown and moving along to a fan rally at Civic Center Park.
