Television star Ryan Reynolds’ dreams of being part of the Ottawa Senators are set in motion, as he decided to armor up with the famous Remington Group. According to Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch, Reynolds had his talk with Remington in order to partner up in the bidding for the Ottawa Senators.

Following the death of the previous owner Eugene Melnyk, his daughters Anna and Olivia were left in charge of the Senators. Shortly after they decided to put it on market with a price of US$525 million. This amount was calculated to last year and is expected to cross the boundary with about $800 million above, approximately.

Gary Bettman, NHL Commissioner has been an awfully close supporter of the Poolverine, who since last year expressed his interest in the League team. He also said that it’ll be beneficial not only for the Senators but also for NHL in general if Ryan held one of its reigns.

The Remington Group chairman and CEO Rudolph Bratty, his brother, and Chief Operating Officer Jerry Bratty expressed their interest in the team bidding. Ryan Reynolds, during the fall, noted that even if he’s interested to be part of the Senators, he’ll be needing help from partners for financial support.

Just like Ryan’s series “Welcome to Wrexham” hit off on Disney Plus pretty well, Gray Bettman wanted to bring in the same spice for Senators. Even Ryan stated that he’s interested in making a story on the team and putting it out for the world.

Everyone is aware of Ryan’s storytelling skills, and with his company’s Maximum Effort in toe, this will not be an impossible dream. It was reported according to theScore, that more than 20 groups are interested in the bidding process.

It’s expected that the Senators’ price will increase as in 2021 the Pittsburgh Penguins got sold off to Fenway Sports Group for $900 million. In Tonight’s Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Ryan commented about partnering up, “I am trying to do that. It’s very expensive, so I need a partner with really deep pockets”.

“It’s called a ‘consortium’ when you form a group together to buy an entity. It’s a fancy way of saying I need a sugar mommy or a sugar daddy.” “I grew up in Vancouver, which has my heart always, but I also grew up in Ottawa”.

“I spent a long time in Vanier there, which is a little town inside Ottawa, a little community. Children are eased out of the womb in ice skates in Canada,” Reynolds joked. “They’re ready to go. NHL-ready by the time they’re four.”
