“Didn’t own a printer” – Sabres prospect Jeremy Davies runs to Staples to sign NHL contract

Jeremy Davies makes a run to Staples to sign NHL contract
Buffalo Sabres prospect Jeremy Davies still has old-school habits which were revealed via a TikTok post made by his girlfriend. His girlfriend Eryn Lynch’s video went viral on social media as she posted their journey to Staples for signing the NHL contract. The Sabres sent the 25-year-old prospect a 1-year two-way contract worth $750,000 on July 13th, the day of the free agency.
It was a matter of celebration until Davies didn’t like the idea of electronically signing it. He wished to print, scan, and scan it back to the Sabres, but he soon realized that he didn’t own a printer. Though fans found this hilarious, Davies was actually in a dilemma on what to do. He said to Lynch, “We have to go to Staples”, and in return, she noted, “Let’s go right now”.

Jeremy Davies’ journey to Staples

Within half an hour of receiving the Buffalo Sabres contract, the duo finalized the deal at a nearby Staples in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Later Davies commented by defending himself, “I’m not the most technologically advanced person, but [the contract] was sent in PDF format and my old school habits led me to believe that the best plan of action was to print, sign and scan it at Staples, which is something I’ve done in the past with things like car insurance and car registration”.
To capture their journey from celebration to the run for Staples, his girlfriend Lynch recorded a video and posted it on TikTok. She jokingly added to the film, “Me and my [boyfriend] frantically running to Staples to sign his NHL contract before they change their minds because we can’t afford a printer”.
As noted on nhl.com, Lynch said, “I’ve been more active on TikTok lately, and we have been waiting all summer for this, so I pulled out my phone and documented the moment”. “When I looked back at all the clips, I realized I can compile it into a funny TikTok and something that gave us a good laugh.” Lynch and Davies said that they don’t own a printer as they move around quite often and it would have been a hassle to a take a printer on road.
With the contract signed and Davies on his way to the training camp, he added, “I’m excited to go to a team that has a lot of young players”. “The past couple of years [the Sabres] have been on the upward trend and kind of in a rebuild mode. I’m super excited to add myself to a young group of guys with a lot of skill. … I know it’s going to be a super competitive and fun training camp. I’m really looking forward to making my mark in training camp and showing what I can do.”
