San Jose Sharks defenceman Nikolai Kynzhov is going to be sidelined for his torn Achilles tendon surgery, at least until the NHL-All-Star break. He hurt his right leg while participating in an off-ice practice.
He has already undergone the surgery on August 10th. According to the medical practitioners, the 24-year-old will be having a recuperation time of 6 months from now.
Nikolai Kynzhov will not be participating in the upcoming season
Kynzhov signed a 1-year contract with the Sharks on April 1, 2022, but could not play in the last season because of an injury, as per nhl.com. The undrafted free agent has a total of 10 points with 2 goals and 8 assists in 59 NHL games.
The Sharks are yet to make the Stanley Cup playoffs since 2018-19. Last season they stood 6th in the Pacific Division. For the changes in the lineup, they traded Brent Burns to Hurricanes and signed defenceman Matt Benning and Markus Nutivaara on July 13th.
