He wrote on Twitter, “It’s very important that Sidney Crosby never plays in another uniform other than the Pittsburgh Penguins”. Crosby himself has also agreed with that saying, “I’d love to”.

That’s been the case since Day One. I feel really fortunate to have been drafted here and (have) great memories. Got to play with two teammates specifically (Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang) for a really long time. So I’d love that to be the case.”

David Beeston further stated, “The way we’ve thought about our hockey operations department is we want to be forward-thinking. We want to be proactive…We’re all disappointed in the way the season ended, but we’re really focused on the future and moving forward.

Sidney Crosby who made it clear that he wants to don a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey for the remainder of his NHL career said that he wants his team to come together and strengthen themselves for the next run, “I just hope we learn from this”.

I think that’s the biggest thing. Regardless of the situation, whether you win or you lose in the first round, second round, whatever, you’ve got to learn from it. That’s something we’ll have a lot of time to dissect it and learn from it. Hopefully, we’re a motivated group because of going through this.”

Considering how the organization emptied its front office, fans can expect to see a new form of Penguins in the upcoming season. Beeston also brought up Mario Lemieux, whom he hopes will be an active part of the team, “He is, of course, not only welcome, but wanted back whenever he wants”.

I expect that will be the case moving forward. Working with him and getting to know him through this process has been a special gift for me. He is incredible”. Fans are also excited and hope to see Lemieux taking an active role this coming 2023-24 season. Although, nothing has been officially stated yet.
