David Pastrnak claims Bruins “didn’t deserve to win” against Lightning

As the New York Rangers became the first team to confirm their spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs, all eyes of the NHL world were on the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night to see if they could join them. Speaking to the media after the game, the forward said:

Tough loss. Obviously, we weren't at our best and didn't deserve to win. The outcome is just as it should be. Tough power play, we couldn't get it going ... 6-on-5 tough, we couldn't get in the zone.

With this loss, the Bruins not only failed to clinch their spot in the playoffs, but also failed to extend their points gap. They are currently top of the table on 99 points, two points ahead of the Florida Panthers, who have played two games less than them.

Apart from these, this loss has taken a huge hit on their chances of defending the Presidents’ trophy. Last season, they had swept everyone on their way to this title with a total of 135 points. With just eight games left now, the Bruins cannot afford anymore slip if they are to remain in the hunt for this title again.
