On Thursday at Canada Life Center, Finnish players Teemu Selanne and Teppo Numminen were honored as they set their jerseys No. 13 and No. 27 raised to the rafters. They were inducted in the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame before their game against Anaheim Ducks. Teemu and Teppo performed the ceremonial puck drop.

The puck drop was performed between Jets forward Saku Maenalanen and Ducks defenceman Cam Fowler. Both the teams captured and uploaded the ceremonial puck drop moment on their respective social media channels.

Before the ceremony, Teemu noted, “I think that it’s a humble feeling to be here tonight. It’s a big honor for sure. It’s so special to go and do this with Teppo. Obviously, Teppo was a huge factor for me when I came here. He was like an older brother for me at the time when I came here.”

Teemu Selanne played 4 seasons with the Jets while scoring 306 points with 147 goals and 159 assists, in 231 games. Nicknamed ‘Finnish Flash’, he was also a part of the Jets, he was also a part of Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, and Anaheim Ducks. Teemu has played a total of 21 seasons in the NHL.

He retired with a record of 684 goals and playing 1,457 games. He played in 10 NHL All-Star Games while getting named the World Champion MVP in 1999 and became the MVP of the Olympic Games in 2014. Unlike Temmu, Teppo has a career point of 265 in 547 games with the Jets

Apart from the Jets, he was part of the Dallas Stars, Phoenix Coyotes, and Buffalo Sabres of the NHL. Starting his career with a local team, he got drafted by NHL in 1986 by the Jets. he won the bronze medal in Winter Olympics in 1998. In his 15 seasons with the franchise, he played 1,098 games, with a defensive point of 534.
