Evan Rodrigues
On Monday, center/winger Evan Rodrigues penned down a $2 million deal with the Colorado Avalanche for 1-year. The defending Stanley Cup Champions have successfully made their core stronger with this signup.
The Avalanche needed this forward depth especially after they had to put Nazem Kadri in free agency. Kadri’s strong playstyle and the hole that he left on the team can now begin to heal with Rodrigues on the roster.

Avs excited to have Evan Rodrigues on their lineup
Last season with the Pittsburg Penguins, Evan Rodrigues scored 19 goals, 24 assists, and 43 points in 82 games, and registered 5 points with 3 goals and 2 assists during the Stanley Cup run.
Unfortunately, the Penguins were annihilated by the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference First Round. Apart from the Penguins, Rodrigues was also a part of the Buffalo Sabres and recorded a score of 129 points with 53 goals and 76 assists in 316 NHL games, and 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists in playoffs.
Avs general manager Chris MacFarland stated, “We are excited to add a two-way player with Evan’s versatility to our group”. “He is coming off his best offensive season and has shown he can play in a variety of roles and help a lineup in many ways.”
