Red Wings optimistic even after having forward Tyler Bertuzzi out of season with upper-body injury

Since the season started, NHL players have been included and released from the IL list continuously. Now it’s Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi‘s turn to get a reserved spot on the injured list after sustaining an upper-body injury on Saturday.
The accident took place at 4:15 of the second period in a game against the New Jersey Devils. Though the team won 5-2 on the weekend, the forward injured his upper body while blocking a shot by the Devils’ defenceman Ryan Graves.
Tyler is expected to be out for a long 4-6 weeks into the 2022-23 NHL season. Along with him forward Jakub Vrana will also be missing from the team’s lineup on Monday in the game against the Los Angeles Kings.

On the other hand, forward Filip Zadina will be having his debut season, as he excitedly stated, “It’s an opportunity and I’ll try to do my best”. “I’ll go and prove I am a good player.”
Last season he scored 24 points with 10 goals and 14 assists in 74 games. The Red Wings will also be missing forward Robby Fabbri as he sustained a knee injury. Team coach Derek Lalonde noted, “Obviously, it’s a tough loss with Fabbri also out, two top-six guys, arguably two first-line guys”.
“But that is why you have the depth. [General manager] Steve [Yzerman] had a very good offseason and he wanted to have some depth. I like our lineup despite who is out, and that is a credit to having some more depth than Detroit has had the luxury of in the past.”
The team this season is all prepared with the newly added players, forward Andrew Copp, David Perron, and Dominik Kubalik. Before getting sidelines, Tyler had 1 assist and 4 shots on goal within a time of 13:38 for the Red Wings in 2 games.
