The preparations for the upcoming NHL season have been well and truly underway. With the league said to be back in October, teams have started their quest for another successful campaign. While the hype for the next season will be centered around the debut of Connor Bedard, the number one draft pick this year, the eyes of several people are focused on Connor McDavid.
McDavid is one of the modern-day greats of the NHL. His namesake Bedard himself looks up to him. However, McDavid will have to be at his very best and stay fit if he were to deliver the crown for the Oilers. His teammate Vincent Desharnais recalled how angry he was following their exit from the Stanley Cup and has predicted that McDavid will be unstoppable next season.
Speaking at a podcast Desharnais discussed the situation in French about the scenario. He opened up on how there were no coaches or front office members but just the players. “It was the first time I saw him like that, with so much emotion and frustration.”
“The first thing I thought of when he was talking that way was how I swear, next year the NHL isn’t ready! I swear to you he is going to break records again!” Desharnais claimed. He further added that if he stays fit, he and Leon Draisaitl could become dangerous. With McDavid having one of his best seasons in terms of goals and assists, he could be a hot figure in the Oilers’ run toward Stanley Cup next season.
With the NHL season going to start soon, most of the fans would love to bet on their favorite teams ahead of the season to win the title. However, due to this high demands, betting and casino platforms have included online gambling and casino in their offerings. Connor McDavid admits to being camera shy despite having towering present on locker room
It is often been mentioned how there is a major difference between expectations and reality. A similar story describes Connor McDavid. While the 26-year-old appears to be one of the most fierce competitors in hockey and on ice, he recently claimed that he is a very shy person in front of cameras.
The Oilers captain has explained how he does not like speaking about himself. “I’ve always tried to led by example first and foremost,” McDavid said in an interview with his own brother Cam. “I’m on the quieter side. I’m an awkward kind of guy,” he further added. The forward star though added how he has now grown comfortable with the role of leader in the locker room.
McDavid has now started his preparation for the eighth season as the captain of a side. Last season he managed 64 goals and 89 assists while collecting 153 points. This has led to many wondering about the future of the team. His fierce style of play has inspired several youngsters across the country. Will he be able to lead his team to glory next season will be something interesting to watch out for.
