Igor Shesterkin is an ice hockey goaltender for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. He was selected during the 2014 NHL Draft as the 118th overall by the Rangers. As the league’s best goaltender he won the Vezina Trophy during the 2021-22 NHL season. Before signing with the Rangers he played with the SKA Saint Petersburg which is a powerhouse itself. He was named to the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic.
Shesterkin debuted with the Rangers on January 7 where he recorded 29 saves against a 5-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche. He had his first shut-out game against the New Jersey Devils with a win 3-0. He is said to carry a net worth of $8 million as of 2022. As a member of the Olympics Athletes from Russia team, he participated in the 2018 Winter Olympics. He also took part in the 2016 and 2017 World Championships with Russia and Germany.
