How has William Nylander fared this 2023-24 season?

William Nylander is having one of his best seasons ever. The Swedish international has been in the thick of goals and assists and continues to play a valuable role for this team.

The winger has already crossed the fifty-point mark. This came in his side’s recent game against the Los Angeles Kings where he scored twice to lead the Maple Leafs to a 3-0 victory.

As a result of this performance, Nylander now has 19 goals and 31 assists for the season. With the All-Star game coming up, the 27-year-old is looking like one of the few stars who have already booked their place for this showpiece event.

He is now the fourth player in Maple Leafs franchise history to reach the 50-point mark in less than 35 games. This feat puts in an elite company alongside Lorne Carr, Doug Gilmour, and Darryl Sittler as the only players to reach this figure in less than 35 games.

He started off the season with a bang and recorded a point in his first 17 games. He also played a huge part in the Maple Leafs’ success in Sweden in the recent international series.

His heroics have led the team to an 18-10-7 record for the season. His side is currently third in the Atlantic Division with 43 points, behind the Florida Panthers and the Boston Bruins. Nylander will have to continue to play this huge role if he wants to take the Maple Leafs to a deep run in the Stanley Cup.
