“Not an easy thing to do” – Connor McDavid records 100 points for Oilers

Connor McDavid
Edmonton Oilers skipper Connor McDavid scored his 100th point in the current National National Hockey League (NHL). This amazing feat with an assist and then a goal against the Los Angeles Kings at the Rogers Place on Wednesday.
The centre, who leads the NHL charts in points, now has scored 100 five times in his seven NHL seasons.
“It’s special to be able to produce in this league,” the 25-year-old said ahead of the Oilers vs Kings game, as quoted by NHL.com. “It’s not an easy thing to do. I definitely recognize that for sure, and feel very grateful to be able to play and produce in this league at a high level.”

Coming back to the game, McDavid’s assist was converted into a goal by the defenceman Cody Ceci 7:24 into the first period. Adding to this, the Richmond Hill native Connor scored off a Kings player 5:07 into the second period.
“Connor’s phenomenal athlete that takes his craft very serious”

Reacting to Connor McDavid‘s outstanding play, Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft leapt massive praises for him.
“It’s incredible,” he said. “He’s a phenomenal athlete that takes his craft very serious. He’s proud to have reached that mark I’m sure, but as I said this morning, I think he’s driven to get our team to 100 points.”
Meanwhile, forward Leon Draisaitl, who has been quite impressive of late, scored his 49th goal of the season in his side’s 4-3 victory.
“It is very impressive,” Draisaitl said of McDavid. “He might have gotten 100 in his rookie season too, if he hadn’t have gotten hurt (48 in 45 games). His consistency is amazing, fun to be a part of, fun to watch. It is hard to score in this league. He goes up against the best every single night. Every team tries to stop him and focuses on him the most, yet every season he gets 110, 120 points, I don’t even know. But that is hard to do. It is impressive.”
