“Out for a little while” – Golden Knights’ Brett Howden’s scary collision on ice…stretchered out

After Brett Howden’s collision with Filip Forsberg last week, it is announced that the former did not sustain any serious injury but will be out indefinitely. Though the players’ hearts broke upon this news, they are more than happy to know he’s been fine.

Brett’s collided with Forsberg during the first period of the game. The game was delayed by 9 mins, as the unconscious player was carried off on a stretcher. With 3 mins left in the first period, Howden lost his footing seconds prior and clashed with the boards. Seconds later, Forsberg ran into him and was immediately terrified of having made Brett’s injury worse.

Emergency officials rushed to the scenes while the crowd silently watched them. The officials did not charge Filip Forsberg for this incident, as it was considered to be just an accident. The Golden Knights announced that nothing can be told until the diagnosis is completed.

“We just hope he’s ok,” Roman Josi (Predators captain) announced to Bally Sports during the first intermission. “It’s a player’s health. That’s the most important thing. It was definitely shocking. We just hope he’s going to be ok and can recover quickly.”

Luckily Howden avoided getting injured on his neck and spine, said Golden Knights head coach Peter DeBoer. He further went on to note his concern saying,

“Scary situation and thankfully about as good a result as you can ask for out of something like that. He’s pretty banged up today.”

Brett scored 20 points in 47 games in his first season with the Golden Knights. Howden was seen at the faculty on Friday, which gave a sense of relief to his team, and to his fans. Stephenson said that his injury isn’t career-threatening, and he would be fine with some rest.

“He’s going to be OK. He’s going to play again, which is obviously awesome. Just makes you sick. You never want to see anything like that for anybody.” said Stephenson.
