“Seems like a good talent” – Twitterati storms as Stars’ Joe Pavelski smashes a brace against Devils
Joe Pavelski
American ice hockey player and Dallas Stars’ alternate captain Joe Pavelski had two goals and two assists as his side extended its winning streak to four games. The Stars crushed the New Jersey Devils with a 5-1 victory on Tuesday night’s National Hockey League (NHL) match at the Prudential Center.
To support him from the other end, Roope Hintz scored for the fourth straight game while youngster Jacob Peterson got his eighth goal as Dallas swept its four-game road trip. Goalie Braden Holtby went on to make 36 saves to improve his career mark against New Jersey to 18-4-3.
“It was a good team effort,” said Pavelski, who assisted on Jani Hakanpaa’s empty-net goal at 17:35 of the third period. “Guys were chipping in this road trip, which was huge for us with all the scoring we got from different lines and timely goals, and that’s what you need to do along the way and that needs to continue.”
“It was a great win. Anytime you’re playing back-to-back, you always know it’s a challenge when the other team is sitting there waiting for you,” coach Rick Bowness said. “They’ve got a lot of speed and a lot of skill. So, very proud of the guys the way they dug in tonight.”
